How to Buy Desktop Memory

If you have ultimately made the decision to add a bit of a speed boost to your current Pc, the first thing you may want to add is some extra memory. Desktop memory, or Ram, is valuable if you are seeing to run very demanding software, or you are wanting to multi-task a minuscule more than you are currently.

When seeing for Ram, the first thing you are going to want to form out is which type of Ram is supported by your motherboard. There are a few guides online that you can check out to see what Ram looks like and how to open the side of your computer to take yours out to see what kind it is.

Ddr2 Ddr3

If you bought your computer from a store, the documentation that came with the computer will more than likely have a specification for the type of Ram your motherboard and Cpu supports. If you built things yourself, knowledge of your processor type or your motherboard's model estimate will help you find documentation about what type of Ram is supported by your Pc.

With that information in hand you are ready to buy some extra Ram. Currently, almost all modern computers are using whether Ddr2 or Ddr3 type Ram. Obviously, Ddr3 is the latest version in the Ddr series and if your computer supports it as well as Ddr2, it is recommended that you go with the Ddr3. When seeing at the specifications of Ram online at sites like http://www.newegg.com or http://www.tigerdirect.com (both very good computer parts retailers) you'll come across descriptions of the general format: Ddrx Xxxxmhz. The Ddrx will specify whether the Ram is version 2 or 3, and the X's beside the Mhz tell you the clock speed of the Ram. Each motherboard and Cpu sustain distinct clock speeds so it is very important to remember to make sure to get the clock speed for your computer otherwise things won't fit and you'll be left with a useless part.

Remember to read the comments that other users have submitted for products you are seeing to purchase. If you are shopping on sites like NewEgg or TigerDirect, you'll see that safe bet brands like Kingston and Corsair are the most popular. If you are unsure what to buy because you are confused by the technical specifications, find sticks online that match your current specs and go with the one that has the best overall rating.

Pay attentiveness to Compatibility When Buying Computer Memory

Computers are now used in all fields of life. With the introduction of these machines, it has come to be easier for habitancy to complete distinct tasks without going through a lot of hassle. But, it is also true that there come some occasions when even a sophisticated machine starts creating problems. Same thing holds true for computers as they sometimes start behaving differently. The ideas starts hanging up and keeps you from using distinct applications simultaneously.

Solution:

Ddr2 Ddr3

Although this can be a difficult situation to face, there is a easy clarification available at your disposal. The clarification is to buy and install a great ram. Yes, this is a easy way of bringing your computer back to life, once again.

Buying computer memory is no longer an issue. Any associates are springing up to help habitancy in this regard. But, there is something that should all the time be taken into observation at the time of selecting a ram. And, that's the compatibility.

If the computer memory you have just bought is not compatible with your system, you won't be able to see any changes in your system's performance; in fact, you won't be able to run it. That's why it is very leading to pay attention to this point.

Here are few things that will help you make a great decision when worrying about the compatibility issue.

First of all, you should spend some time in learning a bit more about the current configuration of your system. You should be checking your processor and the capacity of the memory currently being used by the system. This will help you make a great decision as there is no point in buying ram with high capacity if your ideas can not keep it.

The next big thing to keep in mind is that when you buy Ram for your computer, you should make sure it is just like the Ram type of your motherboard. all the time keep in mind that you can not mix and match computer memory, which is the infer why it is leading to check the compatibility of your Ram with your motherboard.

Then, try to form out the type best marvelous for your system. Here, you will have to pick from Ddr2, Ddr3, Ddr, Rdram, and Sdram.

You should also take some time to see what is the pin count and notch spacing on the Ram being used by your system.

You should also be checking bandwidth and latencies when installing new computer memory.

These are the few things that you should take into observation before buying and installing a new Ram or computer memory. You should bear this in mind that distinct sticks come with distinct timings and run at distinct voltages. That's the infer why it is of utmost significance to match them up as best as possible. The abovementioned things will help you do that in the right way.

Laptop choosing Guide, Part 2 - Memory

How much do you need? It greatly depends on what are you going to do. As a rule of thumb the minimum requirement for smooth run -- 1 Gb for Windows Xp and 2 Gb for Windows Vista. They say Linux requires less, but applications under Linux (browsers, office suites, mail clients, etc...) eat approximately same number as windows applications, so for Linux laptop at least 1 Gb is also preferable.

Speed. As processors, Ram has speed too. Most contemporary laptops have memory with 667 Mhz frequency. Getting 800 Mhz is maybe useful if you have a very strong processor, otherwise you won't get doing benefit, because processor itself will be the bottleneck. 1066 Mhz is currently an overkill and you won't notice a doing contrast between 800 Mhz and 1066 Mhz. Sometimes speed specified not in Mhz but in numbers like Pc2-5300. For your information 4200 means 533 Mhz, 5300 means 667 Mhz, 6400 means 800 Mhz and 8500 means 1066 Mhz

Ddr2 Ddr3

What's the contrast between Ddr2 and Ddr3? Ddr3 can maintain much higher frequencies (but you remember that even 667 is sufficient for you). Another benefit of Ddr3 is about 30% less power consumption comparing to Ddr2. Less power consumption is good for laptops -- means longer battery life and less heat, but it's not categorically a deal breaker.

Shared Ram. If your laptop has an integrated video card (almost all laptops under 00 Cad have integrated video cards) then real Ram which applications can use will be less than specification says, because video card will use some of it for illustrated processing. For example, if you have a laptop with 1 Gb and integrated video with 256 Mb, then actual available number for applications will be 768 Mb and not 1 Gb.

Cap. 32 bit doing systems can not apply more than 3 Gb, so if you are buying a laptop with 4 Gb or more, make sure it runs a 64 bit doing system.

When selecting a notebook, pay attention to how many available memory slots does it have. It is cheap in our days and if laptop you are inspecting is good, but lacks "brains", available slot will allow you to categorically growth it to desired size.

Easy Upgrades For Your Computer That Even You Can complete

Adding Memory

Having an enough amount of memory installed in your computer increases program performance. A good amount if your a Vista user or Windows 7 user is 3Gb of memory. The leading thing when looking to upgrade your memory is compatibility. Your computer can either use Ddr, Ddr2 or Ddr3 memory and even in these categories there are different types. The best thing to do is go to your computers manufacturing site and look for your computers specifications. Upgrading memory can cost everywhere from to 0+ all depending on the type of memory you need.

Ddr2 Ddr3

Running Virus Scans and Malware Scans

If your using a Pc you should definitely have some sort of virus software like McAfee or Avast. These programs allow you to scan your computer for any type of Viruses, Spyware or Trojans that could be retention your computer back. A free software you can use to scan your computer for Malware is Malwarebytes and you can download it from their website http://www.malwarebytes.org/. Running these scans commonly is a great idea too.

Adding An Internal or External Hard Drive

If your running out of space on your hard drive adding extra storage space is something you will need. Buying a internal hard drive is pretty easy and costs under 0 at either newegg.com or tigerdirect.com. Another selection that hasn't all the time been nearby is adding an external hard drive. External hard drives only require either a Usb port or eSata port for it to work with your computer. They are just as fast as an internal one so the selection is yours.

Patriot Gamer Series Ram

I recently purchased a Patriot Gamer Series kit. It's the 4 gig Ddr3 type that Patriot touts "works flawlessly with Amd Black series processors". I don't have an Amd processor, but I've got a Pentium i7 that's designed for online gaming.

I ordered it back in late May and didn't receive it until June 7, which aggravated me to no extent; but that genuinely has no bearing on the carrying out and reliability of the Ram itself. I was genuinely pretty shocked at what I found out.

Ddr2 Ddr3

With the Patriot Gamer Series, I have frequently-over the last join of weeks-attempted to overclock my Dell Xps system. It'll sure get past the 1600Mhz standard, and with flying colors I may add. If you'd like to see the screenshot, just email me and I would be glad to show you.

The "enhanced" latency of 9-9-9-24 practically sounded too good to be true, especially inspecting my past experiences dealing with Ddr2 (as well as the heritage Ddr1). But, Alas, it passed that test as well. I'm not saying it'll always be that fast, but it's a pretty good indicator that it's on top of its game.

Henceforth, I feel compelled to enumerate it to a join of other Ram producers-Kingston and Mushkin (a join of other highly-esteemed products, and of which Kingston I've genuinely used in the past). What I found out, in summary, is that I can't say that the Patriot modules "far exceeded the other two"-but its absolutely right-on par with the other two (with similar configurations).

When I finally got it, it arrived in tastefully-designed plastic covers-good for static electricity stoppage (which will, subsequently, practically guarantee you don't destroy a stick). Other than that, though, and the late delivery issue, it's a well-rounded, awesome product.

Upgrading to a Gaming Motherboard

This is my personal delineate of motherboards for gaming. Having been a gamer for a long time, I must say that it's quite an important fact that most gamers tend to keep an eye on their extensive law specs. This can get quite manic at times, since you all the time want to make sure that your current configuration does meet, if not exceed, the minimum or recommended law requirements games have.

I remember I went straight through a duration where I was constantly checking to see if I meet the minimum law requirements as games came out. This was a depressing task, since I was looking more and more demanding games arrival out I was all the time left behind. Someone else thing which was a qoute for me was the idea of having to give up my configuration for a new and good one. Weird, right?

Ddr2 Ddr3

I soon identified my qoute quite easily, since I knew it was about the upgradeability of my system, and since my then current law was jam packed with Ram and the best processor my motherboard could carry, I knew it was time to let that old motherboard go. As soon as I made up my mind, I went and got myself a new motherboard.

But I didn't just get any motherboard, I got one that insured I was set for a duration of time without having to upgrade pretty soon. The bad thing was I had to give up my processor since I was tantalizing to a newer socket, but the good thing is the new spectacular law doing and the much improved optical appearance my games have.

Also, since my old law was relying on older law memory modules (Ddr2), I had to give those up as well. But it seems that was a good thing absolutely since older modules tend to cost much more / Gb than newer Ddr3 modules cost here. Again, weird!

Now I won't go into details about my current configuration, but I have to say it has been a turn for the good in the way I game. Also, I use visible make software pretty much and I'm very impressed with how flat it runs now. Just adding an effect to an image is a flat process, while on my old engine I encountered serious doing issues. I'm very pleased with my law functionality and I even plan ahead for upgrades now, since I've seen the heavy possible of newer computing hardware.

One piece of guidance I would give to those seeking to make the jump to a newer configuration is to do your research. This means you should look for the newer processor sockets that sustain the best Cpus either from Intel or Amd. Also, your motherboard should have room for fullness of law memory, even if you don't setup it in the first place. Sometime in the hereafter you might need to strengthen your memory capacity and an extra slot or two should be nice to have.

If you're as enthusiastic about games as I am, then you should also look for gaming motherboards that sustain more than one graphics card. This is a great highlight implementation by some manufacturers which allows you to link up two or more graphics cards in Sli for Nvidia cards or CrossFire configuration for Ati Gpus.

After you've done your study for the new configuration you intend to have and you've compiled a list of these features only then is the time right to get a new gaming motherboard.

What Is Ram? How Does It work on Performance?

Ram stands for Random way Memory. What this means is that your computer can store and way information (bytes) in a memory slot at "random" without touching the preceding data.

So what is the incompatibility in the middle of a hard drive and Ram? A hard drive is used to constantly store data (such as documents, pictures, music etc) where as Ram is used to temporarily store information for running programs.

Ddr2 Ddr3

For example if you are playing a computer game, thousands of times a second that game will be storing and recalling data from the Ram in order to run the processes it requires to operate. If you close the game then all this memory will be emptied, and your enlarge will not be saved. If, however, before you complete the game, you "saved" your status, what this would do would write a file constantly to the hard drive that can be then reloaded by the program at a later date. Ram will also be emptied upon shutting down your computer, resulting in all data stored in it being lost.

The type of Ram you most likely have in your computer will be called "Ddr" Ram (Ddr stands for duplicate data rate), and is referred to as Ddr, Ddr2, Ddr3 and the latest (and very uncommon at the time of writing) Ddr4. The larger the Ddr number, the faster the Ram can characterize with the processor, resulting in faster computing speeds.

Operating systems such as Windows Vista were notorious for being very "memory intensive" meaning that plainly to run the background operating system a large estimate of the Ram was taken up and inaccessible to any other application. This resulted in very slow running speeds, a qoute Microsoft attempted to rectify in Windows 7, fairly successfully.

A fairly base contemporary adaptation of Ram is the conception of "shared" graphics cards. These are commonly graphics adaptors that are built into the motherboard of a computer and instead of having their own dedicated memory (like the majority of more expensive Pci graphics cards) take control of large blocks of Ram (usually nearby 1Gb) for the sole purpose of running graphics processing. This again can often follow in machines with high amounts of Ram noticing a primary decline in doing as soon as any kind of heavy graphical strain is put on the system (such as running a 3D game).

Buying a Computer With confidence

You want to buy a computer, but don't know where to start? It is, honestly, an exquisite time to buy a computer, as prices are down and potential is up; but the choices are many and sometimes confusing. For your viewing pleasure, three uncomplicated steps that can take you from confused to confident!

Step One: Know what you want.

Ddr2 Ddr3

Deciding on the primary use for the computer is the best place to start. Most habitancy want the basics: internet association for e-mail and casual browsing, with some light office functionality thrown in. But now would be a good time to reconsider other things like photos and picture editing, music storage, and gaming. Each of these can add to the cost now, but it is commonly much economy to buy a stronger machine now than upgrade a weak machine later.

Step Two: Shop around.

This old stand by that Grandma all the time preaches is still the best way to get the exquisite computer. Even if you are stuck on a specific brand, there are a multitude of places to buy it from, and each will have their own version of both computer and price. Make a list of what specifications you can get for what price, and avoid talking to salesmen for now.

Step Three: Research.

Once you have a nice list with several choices on it, sit down with the internet and find out which one is in effect the best deal. Does that nice full law cost more than that tower-only plus this isolate monitor? Which one is in effect faster, anyway? This is also the time to check shipping charges. Go through the list of upgrades/downgrades available, and see if there is some way to bring the value up.

Here is a quick checklist of computer components to look at, and what to look for in each.

Operating System- Windows, Mac, or Linux.

Central Processing Unit (Cpu)- Intels and Amds come in 32 and 64 bit flavors, with 1 or more cores. Bigger numbers are usually, but not always, better. This is where the research in effect pays off.

Memory (Ram)- The more, the merrier! Some systems are limited to two sticks, while some can hold four. These come in Ddr, Ddr2, and Ddr3, with dual-channel flavors of each.

Hard Drive (Hdd)- Bigger is all the time better. These come in Ide (also called Eide or Ata), Sata, and Sata Ii.

Networking- Ethernet is a must, with ratings of 10, 10/100, and 10/100/1000 Mbps available. This is what most habitancy use to associate to the internet. Wireless is often available, with ratings of A, B, G, and N. If you plan to go wireless, you will need a router as well. Dial-up is still a good idea because it just might be a life saver.

Video- This is a tricky one, with many choices. All computers come with one, but an onboard card may not be strong enough for high end games. Collate the card with the law requirements on the back of that sweet game you want to play.

Sound and Speakers- There are farranging choices, but in general, most sound cards are more than enough for the two or three speaker law that is base for home computers. These are all rated by the amount of speakers it can drive: for example 7+1 is seven speakers plus a sub.

Monitors- The choices are mostly personal here. Lcd, Crt, big, small, wide screen, or standard; The only thing to keep an eye on is shipping, since some monitors can be highly heavy.

Tips for Buying a Pc

Today, buying a Pc can be a difficult task due to the wide range of options available. Although laptops and notebooks are an revision over desktop computers, population still want Pcs for home purposes.

When purchasing a Pc, option of processor is an foremost task because there are various products ready of differing potential and strength. In this market, tough competition exists between Amd and Intel processors, the two most beloved brands. Individual needs and other requirements will help settle which processor is suitable.

Ddr2 Ddr3

Memory is a very foremost component that should be kept in mind when deciding which Pc to buy. Most recently man-made desktop computers use Ddr3 memory. For a lower cost memory option reconsider Ddr2. At least 4Gb of memory is needed to ensure plane processing in most desktop computers.

The desktop computer's hard drive is other integral part of the system. The larger the drive, the faster the Pc runs. The hard drive should be capable of storing memory of at least 500Gb. Hard drives with 10,000 rpm are ready on the sell market. For the best operation, try to find systems with Usb 2.0 and Ieee 1394 ports.

A desktop computer is not functional without a monitor and it must be of good quality. The two options ready are Crt and Lcd monitors; however, the Lcd products are much sought after currently. In large part, cost is considered by size. Whichever type of screen is chosen, make sure its size will meet usage requirements.

The computer speaker is also known as multimedia speaker. It is nothing but an external to a computer that is considered an vital accessory for any computer in the world. The suspect behind its significance is that it not only stops the lower fidelity built-in speaker but also improves your extensive caress with your most precious device, computer.

Personal Computer Memory - 5 Tips on How to pick Ram For Your Pc Build

When choosing Ram or "Random entrance Memory" for your Pc build, you will be guided mostly by your option of motherboard. However, to ensure you make a good choice, read the following tips.

1. Understanding Ram

Ddr2 Ddr3

To begin with, it helps to understand the role of Ram in a Pc. Ram is "volatile" memory which means that it is only used by the operating principles and applications when the Pc is switched on and running.

When the Pc is switched on and has booted, the operating principles is partially loaded into Ram together with applications and data as required. This is because the processor (Cpu) can entrance Ram much more swiftly than the magnetic or optical drives where software is stored.

When programs are fulfilled, they vacate the Ram, as does windows when the Pc is shut down.

2. Types of Ram

At the time of writing, the major types of Ram are Ddr2 and Ddr3. Ddr3 runs at a higher clock rate than Ddr2 but this does not necessarily mean that it is faster memory. Your motherboard specifications should tell you which type it will accept and how much. If the board accepts Ddr3 then buy this because it will help to hereafter proof your Pc and it is no more expensive than Ddr2.

Ram is available at distinct speeds. If it can run faster than your Pc will allow, it will plainly default to a lower speed. If you have thoughts of upgrading in the hereafter however, it may be wise to go for a higher speed which will be more expensive but not by much. Faster Ram may also afford you greater reliability because it is more extremely specified. It will also allow you to experiment with overclocking if that is your desire.

3. Amount of Ram required

The Amount of Ram you will require depends on how you intend to use your Pc. If you play modern games, process digital images, or run a lot of applications simultaneously then you should be inspecting 4Gb or more.

However, it must be realised that if you are running 32 bit windows, then your Pc will only recognise 3.2Gb. To use more than this you need to be running 64 bit windows.

4. Particular or Pairs

If you are going to use 4Gb (for example) of Ram then buy it as a pair of 2Gb modules. Motherboards run matching pairs of Ram modules faster than a Particular module. You can of procedure use a Particular module which may allow you to ultimately fit more Ram on to your board.

5. Quality

This is very important. Always purchase selected brand memory. Do not buy generic Ram. A good brand will ensure reliability and durability. You can also be sure that selected Ram will run at rated speeds.

Personal Computer Memory - 5 Tips on How to pick Ram For Your Pc Build

How to growth Your Pc's Ram

To upgrade your computer's memory, you first need to resolve exactly what number of memory your computer is using and what number can be installed more. To find out this, you can effect the following step:

Go to the "Start" choice > choose All programmes > Click Accessories > adopt system Tools and after that system facts and then look for "Total corporal Memory" to get the idea about the exact number memory that your Pc is using. You can also resolve this by doing a slight search on Google about the online services that provides facts concerning your computer's memory requirements and up gradation. Knowing the type of Ram is also an foremost factor to consider. You should consult your motherboard hand-operated to get the fact that either the type of memory is Ddr, Ddr2 or Ddr3.

Ddr2 Ddr3

Installing the memory stick can be very risky, so you must take your time and should no haste in pushing a memory stick forcibly inside the slot if it is not being genuinely inserted. Let us streamline the basic steps that would help you in the memory up gradation process for your Pc.

1. Depending upon the sort of memory you are installing, you need to be sure that you are installing the memory in the standard slots.

2. Generally, Ddr and Ddr2 type of memory will be installed in the slots 1, 2, 3 or 4. These slots are coloured in yellow or blue. Ddr3 will be fit into the slots 1, 3 or 5 and 6.

3. If you want to add new memory to the existing one without removing the old memory, then make sure that the larger memory sticks are installed in the first slot, which is closest to the Central Processing Unit or Cpu.

4. Determined press each Ram sticks inside the slots until it fits properly.

5. Replace the Cpu panel that you have opened earlier. Insert all the unplugged cables to their standard sockets. Tighten up all the screws that you have loosed earlier. Re-check all the cables and jacks to ensure allowable functionality.

If you are comfortable with working inside your computer Cpu of your own, then this uncomplicated guide can definitely help you in upgrading your system's memory. However, if you are not then you should consult a hardware pro for this task.

Desktop Memory - What Are Some Considerations?

Before you buy desktop memory, some things should be considered. This report discusses some issues that you may want to take into notice before you buy a chip. Please remember that the information shown on this page is not meant to be taken as pro advice, nor in place of it. If you need pro information connected to memory for your computer, please look for man who is distinguished to give you that kind of advice, and who can take into notice what your computer needs and can handle.

There are separate kinds of desktop memory. The Ddr house is a fairly base one. The original Ddr chips are not used in most modern motherboards, as Ddr2 and 3 have become more frequently used. Ddr4 has not yet been produced, but it is planned as the possible successor in this line. Within these forms, there are also separate classifications, such as Pc3-8500, which is a form of Ddr3. That type has a peak replacement rate of 8533 Mb per second, a cycle time of 7.5 nanoseconds, and a memory clock frequency of 133 Mz. A motherboard may only accept inescapable kinds (or one particular kind) of memory. Other hardware and software may also necessitate particular types.

Ddr2 Ddr3

Different levels of memory are also required for particular operating systems and software applications. 2 Gb is ordinarily sufficient desktop memory for individuals who are not running particularly high amounts of programs, or ones that need exceptionally large amounts of Ram. Many pre-assembled computers now come with 2 Gb, or even more.

Buy Ddr Computer Memory - A Quick Guide

Buying Ddr computer memory chips requires some considerations, together with clock speed, clock frequency, exchange rate, storehouse space, electronic interface capabilities, on-die termination, prefetch buffers, off-chip drivers, latency, band width, and operating voltage, some of which rise or fall in effectiveness to the implementation of the other factors involved.

Ddr, Ddr2, and Ddr3, are each significantly dissimilar from one another, so it depends on the single operating law to be used and personal preference. In the end, distinction in price based on model and storehouse capacity makes buying Ddr computer memory chips a task necessitating some technical knowledge and understanding.

Ddr2 Ddr3

Below are discrete models of the Ddr memory chip and the comparative prices. This will contribute a clearer idea for those concerned in buying Ddr computer memory chips:

1. Ddr Pc2100, Memory Part #: 554cm-147 (128 Mb/s): Ddr 16X64-266Mhz Ddr266 Pc2100 Compatible Memory. Sale: .95

Motherboards For Amd Processors

Amd are a global leader when it comes to providing cost efficient and innovative solutions in the fields of microprocessors and graphics, and when it comes to microprocessors they quite often outsmart their biggest rivals Intel. Unlike Intel however; they do not design their own motherboards preferring to use the skills of some high potential commerce with well-established names and brands who have long been staunch supporters of their processors and chipsets.

One of Amd's more new forays into the store is with their Am3 Phenom Ii processors utilising their 45nm manufacturing process containing a new hybrid memory controller enabling them to use both Ddr2 and the newer faster Ddr3. As would be startling the Amd motherboard manufacturers were quick to be releasing motherboards that where compatible with this latest Cpu with the likes of Msi and Asus being among the first to publish specifications of their new products.

Ddr2 Ddr3

Asus are a technology oriented enterprise blessed with one of the best R & D teams in the world, they are well preeminent for being on the superhighway when it comes to delivering cost efficient and affordable new technologies, and where among the first to bring the buyer an Amd Am3 motherboard that was priced according to most peoples budget. And as usual from this foremost builder they have delivered this without compromising on specification or quality.

The Asus M4A78T-E Amd motherboard is one of their Am3 Phenom Ii offerings which also utilises the faster Ddr3 memory which admirably meets the higher bandwidth requirements of the latest 3D Graphics, multimedia, and internet applications. To be more exact this Amd motherboard has four slots providing a maximum of 16Gb of superfast memory.

If you are upgrading and don't want all the price in one go, then the M4A78T-E is a great opening for doing it in byte size chunks. It comes qualified with a Radeon Hc 3300 on-board graphics clarification with one of the fastest integrated chipsets around and an extra 128Mb of Ddr3 makes this board well equipped, capable of outputting video with a resolution at 1080p. If this isn't enough for you then don't be getting dismayed as this Amd motherboard also comes qualified with two Pci Express 2.0 enabling two cards to be run in CrossFireX™ satisfying even hard core gamers.

Once again Asus have given us a motherboard that is well qualified in terms of connectivity being well supported by five Sata Ii ports together with one eSata, two Firewire ports, six Usb 2.0 ports, Gigabit Lan and 8 Channel Hd Audio, with a pretty affordable price tag. Representing the move from your current ideas to Am3 in a cost efficient manner whilst still providing all the bells and whistles needed to keep the majority of consumers happy isn't always an easy thing to do, but this Amd motherboard from Asus delivers just that. Compliment this with enough overclocking to push the Phenom Ii as hard as is possible and Asus could be on to a winner with their M4A78T-E.

Kingston HyperX Ram Modules

Kingston HyperX Ram modules are on top of their game-and a whole lot more. Plus, if it's advent from Kingston, I'm rest very-assured that I've got a good goods (unless it happens to be one of those notorious Kingston counterfeits-which I had the distasteful sense of buying a "Kingston Ddr2 2 gigabyte modules", only to find out that they were phonies and would not even set-up right in Bios!). Ok, venting aside, let's take a espy at my friends system, its HyperX modules, and various other offerings from Kingston.

My friends law (at least the part that's relevant to this review) is a customized Hp Pavilion with an i7-920 Intel processor that boasts a 2.66 gigahertz (I love to spell it out, yes) with 1 megabyte L2 + 8Mb shared L3 cache and Qpi technology. It also came with 8 gigabytes of Pc3-8500 Ddr3 Ram modules-which, me being the power hungry-never satisfied techy, I just had to upgrade to an additional 8 gigabytes-bringing the total memory to a whopper of about 16 gigabytes (give or take a few kilobytes, I presume).

Ddr2 Ddr3

Two 4 gigabyte chips from Kingston and designated "LoVo" (low-voltage), with the proprieatary HyperX technology embedded and in addition to my existing Ram, it makes for one helluva setup! Sometimes I even wonder if I could run an whole datacenter with this setup, haha. Added to that the frames per second(Fps) I get out of my Rampage ultimate video card quite literally-and pardon the expression-"out the frame".

I love this goods X 1,000. I can't verily say it enough; Kingston makes some of the best computer components ever-and I'm not even saying that to only advantage them, but my fellow online gamers and work associates.

deciding on the Right Desktop Memory

The first thing you have to do is conclude what you need enhanced memory for. Specifically, what application running on your computer needs great performance.

You have to recognize the application or applications and then seek how much memory you will need for them to run well.

Ddr2 Ddr3

This does not need super geek skills. You don't need to do some in-depth tinkering to find out this information. All you have to do is look on the box that your application came in. It will tell you the recommended minimum and the recommended maximum memory for that application. If you have lost the box, then you can find out this information by going to the manufacturer's website.

Suppose you are running several types of application, then what do you do? It's the same thing: just add up all the memory needs of each application and average what each application will need to run well. You don't need to form total memory usage, just an idea of the average memory usage.

When you meet the minimum memory requirements, your application will work well. Failing to meet the minimum will create poor performance. Moreover, if you can meet the maximum memory application, you will have optimum performance.

Usually, and this is just a normal statement, most applications run well on 2 Gb of memory. However, if you have 4 Gb to 6 Gb, all things will run very smoothly, and you will optimize the varied functionality of the applications.

Besides capacity, memory type, too, has to be taken into consideration.

Essentially, there are two types of memory: Ddr2 and Ddr3.

With Ddr2, you will pay less, hence its more affordable, but you will get less performance, because it can give you only up to 800 Mhz. However, for many applications, this is fullness of speed. Now with Ddr3, you will get up to 2000 Mhz. You will fly!

Another thing you have to look at in choosing on the memory for your desktop is what is supported by your desktop computer?

Also, consider what kind of future memory expansion you'll need. Your computer may have 4 to 6 slots and you have a choice of putting from 1 Gb to 2 Gb of memory in each one.

Following these basic tips will help you to recognize and use the best type and the best amount of memory for your desktop for optimum computer performance.
