Parts You Will Need To Build Your Own Desktop Computer

Building your own Pc can save you a lot of money and allow you to customise your computer to the technical specification you wish to growth performance.

Motherboard

Ddr2 Ddr3

This is the main component in a computer. It's the base item (building block) that all the other components attach to. There are many distinct types of motherboards out there, but not all of them are the same, there are made for distinct Cpu (central processing unit). So when picking your motherboard make sure the Cpu is compatible with the motherboard.

Cpu

The central processing unit is the main core component that processes all the data. Cpus come in all shapes and sizes fluctuating from the old 32bit to the new 64bit processors but also now with newer processes coming out all the time they now have multi core processes that range from duel core, quad core and the latest hex core.

Ram

Random way memory is where all the temporary data is stored before it's stored to the hard drive or removed from the memory when not needed any more. The more Ram you have inside your computer reduces the about of times the data is needed to be placed on the hard drive to be accessed and in turn makes the computer faster. The latest type of Ram is Ddr3 (double data rate 3) the old approved was Ddr2 but most systems will use the new type to greatly improve ideas performance.

Psu

Power provide unit, this is the component that gives power to all the attached components. This gives power to the hard drives, Dvd/Cd/Blu Ray drivers and other attached devices. In some cases the video card will wish definite power wattage as a minimum for the card to work at its full potential. They are distinct types of Psus most withhold 64bit processors but some old Psu don't have the correct cables to power a 64bit processor.

Video card / Graphics card

Most modern motherboards have built in video / graphics cards but these are not the best you can get, but unless you're using you're compute to play games on these should be fine. When you are picking a new video / graphics card you will need to adopt the new Pci express card because the new motherboards use these now not the old Agp (advanced graphics port) which is now obsolete.

Hard drive / Hdd

Hard drives are used to store all you're data and files they come in a range of sizes and speeds. Most drives today are Sata (serial developed technology attachment) that replaces Pata (parallel Ata). Most coarse hard drivers have 7200 rpm (revolutions per minute) which is fast enough for anything but they are even faster ones out there. The size of hard drive space usually ranges from 40 gigabytes which is surely small these days, to over 1 and 2 terabytes.

Cd/Dvd/Blu Ray drive

These drivers are not surely needed as such because you can install windows from a Usb pen or someone else external device. These drivers are all backwards compatible which means a Dvd drive can play Cds and a Blue Ray driver can play all of them. Driver speeds are general displayed with numbers and x e.g. 52x. Which shows the speed of reading or writing also there are other numbers like this which look like this "32xRw" this is the rewrite speed of the drive.

Network Card

This is the component is to allow way to a network and then usually the internet. They are 2 main types of network cards a general Ethernet connection and wireless network card. Wireless network cards allow for wireless networking so no cables all over the place. Wireless network cards have distinct speeds which are displayed like this 802.11b, 802.11g and 802.11n, the "n" is the latest and has the fastest speed.

Sound Card

Sound cards installed so when you play music watch videos you're computer can output the sound, they are many distinct types and models most of the sounds cards these day are 7.1 surround sound, which means it supports up to 7 speakers and 1 sub speaker.

There are also simple components that don't wish installing inside the computer but naturally just plug into the back, which are called plug and play devices.

Ocz Blade describe

Introduction

As we have all been seeing for faster memory modules, we concept we had reached the end of the Ddr-3 cycle but low and remarked the Ddr3-2000 gives us hope for that much more speed within the same set of computer parts. seeing that 6gb memory modules are here and super fast it is now time to think about upgrading that system.... Again!

Ddr2 Ddr3

Overview

The Ocz has been jumping into the game aggressively as of late to try to compete with the biggest of the heavy hitters in the computer ram market. They haven't quite got a check on how to deal with all the power they hold though. I believe that this is one hypothesize that they have failed to be equal or great than their competition

One of the first things I noticed was the old school computer ram block coolers that they use. These used to cool Ddr and Ddr2, but their effectiveness hampers the operation of these new super fast and large ram memory modules. The increasing of a connectable fan is also not available as a set. The ones you can get added on through modding just won't get the job done as well either with allowable block cooling.

With Cas-7 this is a major sell because of its capabilities, but they are lacking on how to use that potential effectively. Ddr3-2000 is easy to set manually, but if you do not have the right setup to handle the power then you will find that other (G.Skill) major manufacturers will beat you and your price. I am uncertain how G.Skill is able to have their price 0 lower than Ocz, but it is a major inhibitive when G.Skill has a faster memory module for sale.

Conclusion

In summary, The Ocz blade describe shows that this computer ram is just plain overpriced. It used to be the fastest, but G.Skill exquisite Storm has one upped it by 0 dollars and beaten it in the speed and data rate areas. Soon Ocz will have to drop the price to compete with the competition and make more sales in this rough economy. Ram coolers would also set this computer ram up for great cooling and probably the missing speed that it should have available.

dissimilar Types of Ram

Ram is the acronym for 'random access memory' and is ordinarily calculated in megabytes. A Ram chip is a module that holds freshly accessed data so that the central processing unit can have access to it. It is faster than reading from the hard drive and allows for easy access of recently stored data, information, and files. This means that all programs must be run straight through the Ram before they are usable.

There are two basic types of Ram, namely dynamic Ram and static Ram. A dynamic Ram is called so because it has to be constantly refreshed by the memory controller. The theorize for refreshing is that the capacitors that hold the data or data have a built-in leak that can only be stopped by refreshing the data thousands of times in a second. This makes dynamic Ram slower and cumbersome compared to static Ram.

Ddr2 Ddr3

Static Ram is a type of random access memory that has a greater capacity for warehouse because it uses on-off switches instead of capacitors. However, static Ram is more high-priced compared to dynamic Ram because it is faster and can hold more information.

Usually, industrialized versions of the dynamic Ram are used instead of using static Ram because of its high price. These versions contain Fpm (fast page mode), Ecc (error correcting code), Edo (extended data output), and Sdram (synchronous dynamic Ram). Ecc Ram is a special error-correcting Ram that is ordinarily used in servers.

Edo Ram, or extended data production Ram, is an revision of the traditional Fpm Ram. Data can be read faster and the distance of time that the production data is valid is extended, which improves time coordination between the central processing unit and Ram, thus enhancing the performance.

The speed of a Ram is measured in nanoseconds, and the fewer the nanoseconds (ns), the faster the computer. Today we use 50 ns computers as opposed to the 180 and 150 ns that we used in the last decade.

Tearing apart a netbook?

Tearing apart a netbook? Tube. Duration : 10.38 Mins.

Have you ever seen a netbook (or notebook for that matter) that requires you to tear down the entire machine, taking out the motherboard completely just to change the RAM or Hard Drive? Yeah me neither. The RAM and Hard Drive are both sitting under the motherboard right at the bottom of the casing so why couldn't Acer have just put two simple trap doors there?

selecting the Best Motherboard for Your Pc

The name of this component can tell you a great deal about what it can do. It is the mother, it is the one that takes care of all the functions that make your personal computer work and makes sure that all the house members or components work together to reach a coarse goal and that is to make you... The owner... A happy man or woman.

When selecting a motherboard you need to know some basic features that will form the basis of you configuration.

Ddr2 Ddr3

Select your central processing unit and make sure that your motherboard supports that distinct type of model from the constructor directly and then make sure it can deal with the speed the processor is able to reach.

You have to be meticulous regarding the Cpu socket type your motherboard has. Some motherboard can deal with only a itsybitsy number of processing units and the socket will let you know which type. For example if you have a Pentium 4 processor the socket type will normally be either Socket 423 or Socket 478 and for Amd it also varies.

The memory and drive format are two very leading aspects you need to take into notice when dealing with a motherboard. Generally the memory format can be Ddram, Sdram, Ddr2 or Ddr3 and the hard disk drive is Ata, Sata or Sata2 so you can pick a motherboard to work on basic models or the latest motherboard to have a computer that will hold you on top of the pedestal.

Lastly you have to make pick in the middle of the video card format you desire, the local area network board and the audio board. Pretty much you are good to go and most leading is that you base your computer on your own personality and on your own criteria. This way you will be satisfied with a goods that was handmade.

Laptop Computer Memory Schemes

What do you have to know about the memory project of the laptop computer you seize?

Similar to desktop computers, laptops do have two main types of memory. These pertain to the Ram or Random entrance Memory and the Rom or the Read-Only Memory. They are primarily responsible of handling data processing tasks and computer application management.

Ddr2 Ddr3

Ram/Rom Overview

The Random entrance Memory (Ram) is defined as the physical memory for storing computer files. It is thought about as a disk space and virtual memory of laptop computers. On the other hand, the Read-Only Memory (Rom) is in general utilized to store applications for booting purposes.

For laptop units, the core memory is the Ram. It runs all the application embedded in your laptop Os. In order to run some applications concurrently in your computer, you need to allocate a larger memory capacity. This requires your computer to have a bigger amount of bytes for Ram.

There are two types of Ram being utilized in most laptops. These are the Sram and the Dram. Sram (Static Random entrance Memory) is faster than the Dram, yet, more expensive. On the other hand, Dram (Dynamic Random entrance Memory) requires to be refreshed by the users while being utilized. Though, such process is done automatically with laptops. So far, Dram is the most commonly utilized Ram in both desktop and laptop.

The newest model of laptops and notebooks are utilizing the Ddr, Ddr2 and Ddr3 types of Ram. All these acronyms and amount indicate the carrying out and upgrade of a sure unit. Their focal function is to speed up data exchange and processing.

Standard laptops usually seize a memory space of 2-4 gigabytes. This is made so, to meet the goal of faster performance. Note that the more applications you run, the larger the Ram space it requires, to evade from dragging issues. If your computer does not have enough Ram to allocate these programs, this slows down the computer performance.

Hard Disk for Laptop Memory

Some laptops used hard disk as the core memory. This is obviously good compared to Ram and other memory types, for you can store all files you wanted to save inspecting you still have free space in your hard drive. Hard disk drive in laptop usually looks like a box, embedded in the unit.

Laptop manufacturers are also creating some sort of anti-shock law to keep the hard drive safe, especially when you inadvertently plunge your laptop down. This law makes the unit even more expensive, though. Business laptops usually use this scheme. Anti-shock law works in a way that stops the disk head when a shock is encountered. This is what averts Hd from being smashed.

Regardless of either the laptop is using Hd or Ram, slow processing is still inevitable. This is true when the hard drive is already full. In order to rule such possible processing issue, optical drives are made available. Good example is a Dvd burner/writer, which users can use to free-up some space on their hard drives. Yet, an extra cost should also be expected.

What Is Flash Memory and Ddr Memory?

We know very well that computer has flash memory units working in them. However, what we don't know is how these memory units function or and their key roles. It becomes quit indispensable to note here that memory units play their indispensable role in functioning of computers, laptops, palmtops, notebooks etc. Flash memory and Ddr memory are two genres of electronic memories which consolidate into the electronic circuits. Flash mem is a specialized unit that is programmable, re-programmable and moreover you can also erase it electronically. This kind of memory is quite effectively used in the gaming consoles as well as dissimilar types of memory cards. Flash mem is a non vaporing computer mem and it is also quite user friendly. Overall use of Flash mem can be found in Pdas, digital cameras, audio players, and phones. an additional one indispensable point to make here is that since Flash mem is non vaporing in nature all the data stored inside it will not be lost until and unless you do not manually erase the data that has been stored in Ram memory. There are two basic forms of Flash mem, viz, Nor and Nand. It is foremost to point here that Nor has the property to way any type of mem location wit the help of data busses as well as full addresses. Nand Flash mem on the other hand has fast writing ands erase time and these memory units are used in memory cards. Flash mem has its own very limitations and the one of the most known limitation is that flash memory can only be erased and rewritten only for very specific whole of times.

Ddr memory finds its use in the desktop computers. The acronym for memory stands as duplicate Data Rate and it has significantly industrialized from Sdram. Ddr is twice faster than the Sdram memory. Ddrs have dissimilar variants available in the market, and the quite foremost ones include, Ddr1, Ddr2 and Ddr3. You option of a single type of Ddr mem would want that you have clear cut idea on the compatibility of your computer system. Ddr memories are also quite beloved for the fact that they consume less of power than the traditional kinds of Sd Ram memories. It is very foremost that you check on the compatibility of Ddr mem should you go for transfer of Ddr.

Ddr2 Ddr3

Next we jump on to the ageement Flash Card Memory. This type of memory belongs to its own niche and is compatible with any dissimilar types of electronic equipment like palmtops and notebooks. You have to be very peculiar in selecting ageement Flash Card Memory, as here again compatibility issue comes to play the role. If size is compared, then Cf (CompactFlash) memory cards are big in size than the Sd memory cards. ageement flash mem cards come in Cf type I and Cf type Ii respectively. With all this facts available, you have good conjecture to go for the type of memory which you want in your computer, laptop or palmtop.

Key Facts You Will Want to Remember for a Stress-Free Laptop Sodimm Upgrade!

Once your laptop loses oomph, it's often that the cause is low principles memory. You've likely heard that contemporary laptop memory upgrades come in the form of a laptop Sodimm, but just what are they, and possibly most importantly, how can you buy the one right for your laptop? To save you confusion, let's go over the vital aspects you should know before clicking the order button!

What is a laptop Sodimm?

Ddr2 Ddr3

A laptop Sodimm is the shorthand term for laptop Small form Dual Inline Memory Module. Quite a mouthful wouldn't you think? Fortunately, a Sodimm is rather small and is the name given to the Pcb (Printed Circuit Board) on which contemporary laptop memory is sold.

Consequently, each time you stumble across a laptop memory upgrade, it's very likely to be a laptop Sodimm of some sort. Does this mean all laptop Sodimm's are identical? Unfortunately not, but luck has it that it's not as complicated as it sounds.

Laptop Sodimm's differ depending on what type of memory they feature. Older Sdram Sodimm's for example are 144pin, slightly newer Ddr and Ddr2 Sodimm's are 200pin while the currently most recent Ddr3 Sodimm's are 204pin. Their corporal dimensions also vary but ever so slightly.

The main thing to remember is that laptop Sodimm's of varying types can't be mixed together in the same laptop. For example, if your laptop uses Ddr3 memory then there's no use trying to install a Ddr2 Sodimm in there. It's not merely the number of pins that vary but also the pin layout, operating voltage, timings and addressing etc.

Does this mean upgrading is a burden best left to professionals? Of procedure not!

Laptop Sodimm compatibility

While it's impossible to mix and match Sdram, Ddr, Ddr2 or Ddr3 Sodimm's (any combination) together it's normally just fine to mix and match the same types of Sodimm's together, even if the brand of memory differs. Let's put this into perspective.

For example, say you have a Ddr2 laptop that shipped with a single Ddr2 Sodimm. Its capacity is pretty much irrelevant but let's assumes its 2Gb. You now want to upgrade to 4Gb but the Ddr2 laptop memory upgrade you purchased is of a separate brand than the one currently installed (i.e. Samsung Vs Hynix). Will this work? In 99% of cases yes! You see, the brand is for most part a non-issue, what's relevant any way is that both modules are Ddr2 thus result the Ddr2 Sodimm specification.

Even if the memory timings differ in the middle of the modules then this is also approved (unless you want every ounce of carrying out you can get). The only aspect you should pay attention to when purchasing is the memory speed. For example, if that current 2Gb Ram is of the Pc2-5300 (667Mhz effective) variety, you want to make sure your new Ddr2 laptop Sodimm is also at least Pc2-5300, otherwise the memory controller within your laptop will be forced to run both Sodimm's at the speed of the lesser (i.e. Slower) Sodimm. To extrapolate this further, Pc2-5300 and Pc2-6400 Ddr Sodimm modules will work together albeit at 667Mhz and not 800Mhz (effective).

So why will mixing separate brands of laptop Sodimm's only work in 99% of cases. The short riposte is incompatibility. The long riposte is as follows, some lesser brands of laptop memory do not always 100% result the Jdec (the organisation what devises memory specifications) specification, at other times Bios's (Basic Input Out System) found in laptops aren't without bugs. The net result is a laptop that will continuously beep when turned on while displaying a black screen.

Is there a way to upgrade without potentially facing any such problems and diminishing performance? Nothing will 100% warrant you leave from laptop Sodimm contrast issues, after all it's you who clicks the order button, any way as long as you stick to some key recommendations then we're almost determined you'll be smiling in no time at all.

Upgrading laptop Sodimm's - key recommendations to think prior to buying

We've compiled the below shortlist of aspects you should pay attention to when seeking to buy a laptop Sodimm. For peace of mind we propose that you:

A) Where inherent try and buy the same brand of memory to what you already have installed Or buy a laptop memory upgrade from a respected brand

B) Buy the same speed of memory to what's currently installed, i.e. If Pc2-5300 is installed then buy a Pc2-5300 laptop Sodimm as it's very rare that the memory controller in your laptop can run at a higher memory spec, and even if it can, the currently installed slower memory will preclude this (unless you convert all Sodimm's to the new faster spec)

C) Where financially feasible to do so, always try and buy Sodimm's of the same capacity to what you currently have installed (see below as to why)

D) If the laptop memory upgrade you plan to buy doesn't feature a lifetime warranty then it's best to avoid it altogether, respected memory brands offer lifetime warranties because they believe in their products, so should you (for peace of mind)

E) naturally buy mainstream laptop Sodimm's rather than carrying out laptop Sodimm's. The latter will feature faster memory timings, which offer a modest carrying out boost. For them to run at these timings any way all installed memory modules must meet this spec. As your currently installed laptop will likely feature somewhat slower timings, your laptop's Bios will use these, and not the faster timings.

Laptop Sodimm dual channel mode

The vast majority of contemporary laptops retain what is known as dual channel mode. In practise, this means two laptop Sodimm's are accessed in parallel for enhanced carrying out (bandwidth).

When dual channel mode was introduced (in Ddr memory laptops) it only operated in what's known as synchronous mode. Newer Ddr2 and Ddr3 memory laptop retain both synchronous and asynchronous mode.

Synchronous mode only works when two identical Sodimm's are installed. In this case identical also extends to mean two modules of the same capacity, for example, 2x 512Mb = 1Gb.

Asynchronous mode on the other hand only works when two non-identical Sodimm's are installed, non-identical in the sense that they vary in capacity, for example 1x 1Gb and 1x2Gb = 3Gb.

Regardless whether you have an older Ddr memory laptop or newer Ddr2 or Ddr3 laptop, always try and install Sodimm's of the same capacity. Doing so will ensure your memory (where your laptop supports dual channel mode) runs in synchronous mode.

If you have a Ddr2 or newer laptop that supports dual channel mode and install non-identical capacity Sodimm's, this will force asynchronous mode. In such situation, only part of your memory will control in dual channel mode, the other part will run in single channel mode.

Key Facts You Will Want to Remember for a Stress-Free Laptop Sodimm Upgrade!

Types of Ram for Your Pc

If you were to correlate the personal computer to the human body then the Ram or random way memory would be determined to be the muscles of your body. Ram will decree how fast and how strong your personal computer is. The speed with which your personal computer will load all your programs and the way your games are loading will be directly determined by your Ram.

There are separate types of random way memory now that you can use for your personal computer and they are offered in this order from the first types to the last that are ready now.

Ddr2 Ddr3

Sd Ram - straightforward data rate random way memory - was the first type of memory crated and has been exceeded by duplicate data rate random way memory and also by the latest types of memory ready on the store today. It is a story of the past and this type of memory should not concern you in the least.

Ddr2 Ram - duplicate data rate 2 random way memory is an industrialized version of Ram that offers great speed for your personal computer and has been the most tasteless type of memory used in the past few years.

Ddr3 Ram - this is the latest type of memory ready on the store and is by far the fastest of them all. If you are inspecting buying a new computer and you have to choose a memory type then go with Ddr3 as is all ready has approximately completely replaced all the other Ram types.

These are the three main types of Ram and they will probably be replaced soon by some new comer with even better execution however for now the Ddr3 type of Ram will completely suit your needs.

Hard Drive and Computer Memory Buying Guide

Hard drive
When selecting one there is only to look after speed and capacity. For normal work you need at least 250Gb of space and in terms of speed there are hard drives running with 7200rpm and some with higher doing at 10000rpm. Most use Ata or Ide relationship with computer.

So what do you want to get?

Ddr2 Ddr3

If your computer will be used for:
Word Processing: 160+ Gb, 7200rpm
Web Surfing: 160+ Gb, 7200rpm
Light Gaming: 250+ Gb. 7200 rpm
Heavy Gaming: 360+ Gb, 7200 rpm
Digital Music: 500+ Gb, 7200 rpm
Graphics Editing: 500+ Gb, 7200 rpm
Digital Video: 750+ Gb, 7200 rpm

If you look from this perspective: common mp3 song uses 5mb of space, common video from 700mb to 1,5Gb. You know for what you will be using your computer so it is your choise.
Ata and Ide are quite similar, their only distinction is that the Ata drive is more easy to install, and has less cables.

Memory

Also a very foremost component, it sends the message to the processor how to carry on the orders which we have given to the computer.

There is never sufficient Ram. How much you need is relevant. If you play games which take a lot of ram or other memory enthralling processes then you need a lot of it. Minimum amount is 1Gb, middle 2Gb and the best is from 4Gb above.
The type is also important. Ddr2 and now Ddr3 are the most common today. Here are some Ram-s from slowest to fastest:

Ddr2 400 Mhz or Pc2-3200
Ddr2 533 Mhz or Pc2-4200
Ddr2 667 Mhz or Pc2-5300/Pc2-5400
Ddr3 800 Mhz or Pc3-6400
Ddr2 800 Mhz or Pc2-6400
Ddr3 1066 Mhz or Pc3-8500
Ddr3 1333 Mhz or Pc3-10600/Pc3-10666
Ddr3 1600 Mhz or Pc3-12800

The speed also very important. Why would we need a big capacity if it wont fill up sufficient fast. Memory can be upgraded very easily so do not bother buying too much or too expensive.

Hardware You Need to Build a Computer

The hardware you need to build a computer can absolutely be found at many online retailers. An online retailer will usually have the lowest prices and offer you the most bang for you buck. Online retailers can also offer a assistance of showing which parts are often matched with one another. So you can see some of the part combination's that others have put together as well.

Choose the processor or Cpu that you intend to use. Whether this is an Intel or Amd processor is not the point. Your Pc parts and build will be carefully largely by the processor that you buy. Make sure to buy a processor that is the newest socket type. Intel changes their most up to date processor socket about every 2 years. Amd tends to hold onto their socket styles much longer than that. And Amd processors are usually backward compatible so even if you only wish to upgrade to the newest Cpu you often can just setup it in your older motherboard. Amd's Am3 can often be used in their Am2+ and Am2 sockets. You can't do this with Intel Cpu's.

Ddr2 Ddr3

Cpu cooler; depending on the type of Pc you plan to build you may need a better Cpu cooler than comes with the Cpu. Stock Cpu coolers are not the most and often do not do an enough job of keeping the Cpu cool.

Now choose the motherboard. You know what Cpu you wish to use, now the motherboard is the next logical step. The motherboard is one of the most prominent components of any computer system. Most computer shoppers do not give them much notion though. Make sure your motherboard has all the connections and features that you need. Don't cut angle on the motherboard, good motherboards should be over one hundred Us dollars. Some of the absolutely nice motherboards are over two hundred dollars. Firewire, toslink, multichannel audio outputs, and video outputs are just some of the options to make sure you motherboard has -if you need them.

Ram or memory; they type of Ram you choose will be carefully by the motherboard. You will not be able to swap Ddr2 for Ddr3 Ram on the same motherboard. Motherboards are Ram specific. Make sure to get the exact type of Ram for your system.

Hard Drives; the hard drive or drives you choose to use in your system will have an sway on your total Pc performance. Slower drives will read and write slower and bog down the Pc. The fastest hard drives are solid state drives. After that a 15,000 Rpm drive would be next fastest. Most computers though use a suitable 7200 Rpm disc drive. They are inexpensive and offer suitable performance.

The Case; getting a good case for your Pc is absolutely more prominent than you might think. You need a case that has a good flow of air and offers slots and locations for all your equipment and components. I would also encourage 2 to 3 places to accept large 120mm case fans. The larger case fans will offer better cooling and lower noise than smaller high Rpm fans.

Dvd and Blu Ray Drives; these are basic visual disc drives. Whether you need a blu ray player drive or not is an additional one discussion. But here is where you should make that decision.

Power contribute unit; also known as Psu. The main observation here is to get one that will have enough power for all of your components. There are some very high powered units available and these are usually overkill for the mean consumer. A 600 to 700 watt Psu should be more than enough for most Pc uses. If you need more than that you would know why you do, such as running two high powered graphics cards in crossfire or Sli mode. This, in a expanding to a high powered Cpu and running Raid array could warrant the higher powered Psu's.

Thermal Compound; the compound provided with most Cpu's, north-bridge and chip sets is not high quality. I would get a tube of high capability thermal compound and spread use it for these components. Applying it is very easy. Just spread it out thin and flat with a credit card, make sure to keep it out of cracks and off the Cpu pins.

Cables; most if not all of the cables you will need will be provided with the parts of your Pc. The motherboard usually will come with Sata cables. The Psu comes with all the power connections for hooking to the motherboard and other Pc parts. Sometimes you may need to get a extra type of cable but usually all included. In fact I have spares of just about all laying around from multiple Pc builds. I have only had to order extra cables one time and it was for a specific idea that I wanted to try. You are not likely to run into this.

These are the tasteless parts of a computer. There are other parts such as the northbridge, southbidge, audio and video chipsets but these are included in the motherboard. But again; get a capability motherboard so that you can know you are getting high capability parts in these areas.

Optimize Windows 7 for SSD (Part 1) Disable or Move Page file and Disable system restore

Optimize Windows 7 for SSD (Part 1) Disable or Move Page file and Disable system restore Tube. Duration : 2.42 Mins.

In this guide I show you how to get the most out of your SSD by setting up Windows 7 to use up less drive space. We begin by disabling 2 drive hogs, page file and system restore. This reduces the amount of space that windows sets aside in your hard drive for system restore backups and page file for ram. You can move your page file to another hard drive if you feel like you might need it. Disabling it entirely will make a program crash if you run out of RAM, so only do this if you have sufficient RAM to run all the programs you want to run. Steps: Right click My Computer - Properties - Advanced System Settings - Advanced Tab - Performance: Settings - Advanced tab - Virtual Memory: Change - set page file to your liking - OK/Apply - System Protection tab - Configure - Turn off system protection - Set max usage - Delete restore points - OK/Apply Next video will be how to optimize windows 7 to give you the best possible read/write times and maximize your SSD life expectancy
